Sydney Mardi Gras 2018 at The Keg & Brew

By Eric   /

Here at the Keg & Brew, in the heart of Surry Hills we’re big fans of the annual Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras celebrations and we want you to join in the fun! Sydney’s Mardi Gras is arguably the world’s most spectacular celebration of the LGBTQI community, which attracts upwards of 20,000 interstate and international visitors to the streets of Sydney each year.

The 2018 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras celebrations will kick off on February 16th and run until March 4th, with the much-anticipated Mardi Gras parade taking place on Saturday March 3rd. The parade and festivities will celebrate pride, acceptance and self-expression in dazzling fashion. This will not only be the 40th anniversary of the first Mardi Gras parade, but also the first Mardi Gras since the marriage equality law was passed in Australia late last year. This law legally recognises the marriage of same-sex couples, so expect an extra-big celebration this year!

On the day of the Parade itself (March 3rd ), here at the Keg & Brew we will be unveiling our very own Mardi Gras cocktail so drop in to try one (or two!), before taking to the streets to enjoy one of the biggest party nights of the year here in Sydney. We’re very conveniently located between the public transport mecca of Central station and the Mardi Gras hub at Oxford Street in Darlinghurst. It’d be rude not to stop by as you’re passing!

For the duration of the 2018 Mardi Gras festival, the Keg & Brew will be running our usual amazing food and drinks deals along with our usual late closing times. We look forward to seeing you for some Mardi Gras fun soon!
